About the Fire Statistics and Research Division
The Fire Statistics and Research Division provides research and technical advice in support of the Fire and Rescue Service Directorate by:
- Providing expert advice to policy-makers on technical matters
- Commissioning and undertaking research to inform policy decisions relating to the operations and practices of the Fire and Rescue Service
- Maintaining the national fire statistics function
- Doing statistical work to underpin and evaluate policy
- Where necessary, developing technical guidance for the Fire and Rescue Service.
