Welcome to the statistics pages of the Department for Communities and Local Government website.
The Department produces statistics in accordance with two pieces of statistical legislation designed to enhance public trust and confidence in official statistics: namely the Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007, which sets out the constitutional and organisational arrangements for official statistics in the UK; and The Pre-release Access to Official Statistics Order 2008, which sets out the principles and rules governing access to official statistics before their publication.
In line with this legislation, all of our official statistics meet the best practice standards set out in the Code of Practice for Official Statistics published by the UK Statistics Authority - an independent body reporting directly to Parliament that is responsible for overseeing, promoting and safeguarding the production and publication of official statistics that serve the public good.
