Research and statistics enable us to make decisions and develop our policy using sound evidence.
Different types of research programmes are run throughout Communities and Local Government. Our Analytical Services Directorate's external programme mainly covers analysis and data collection on housing, planning, urban/regional, economic/social inclusion and the environment.
Our New Horizons research programme explores issues beyond the scope of our main research programmes. It encourages new, innovative approaches to issues.
Most of our research projects will be commissioned by competitive tender.
