Will my nomination succeed?
General pointers as to whether a nomination is likely to succeed.
The person you nominate will have a realistic chance of success if you bear in mind these points:
- Honours are for exceptional achievement over and above what is normally expected from their role
- Recommendations should highlight areas showing what the person has done to make them special
- Individuals will be judged on the results of their activities, the extent of their influence on the good practice of others, the impact they have had in their area, and the contribution they have made towards improving the lot of people less able to help themselves
- Bear in mind that they must still be doing the work, or are only just about to leave, the work for which they are being recommended
