Ministers

Six Communities and Local Government Ministers work with the Department's Board, Executive Agencies and specialist public bodies to ensure the Department meets its objectives. The Ministers are led by the Secretary of State who is a Cabinet Minister. Their responsibilities include:

  • creating safe, tolerant and inclusive communities
  • building better homes and neighbourhoods
  • promoting strong and accountable local government
  • improving local services and environment
  • regenerating and investing in our towns, cities and regions
