Susan Scholefield - Director General - Cohesion and Resilience
Susan Scholefield has been a Director General in the Department since January 2007, when she joined as Director General for Equalities. She was previously Command Secretary at the Permanent Joint Headquarters at Northwood and before that was Head of the Civil Contingencies Secretariat in the Cabinet Office, strengthening the resilience of the United Kingdom to disruptive challenges.
She has some twenty years experience in the Ministry of Defence in a range of policy and resource management jobs, including Private Secretary to the Chief of Defence Procurement. She has also spent a year in Paris at the Ecole Nationale d'Administration and in Strasbourg, working in the Regional Prefecture.
Susan was awarded a CMG in 1999 for her work on Bosnia.
