Christina Bienkowska - Director - Strategy and Performance
Christina has been the Director of Strategy and Performance in Communities and Local Government since November 2005.Prior to this she worked in the Department for Education and Skills as Head of Policy and Performance covering all the Department's work on Schools and Children, Young People and Families where she drove forward the policy agenda, designed the Directorates' programme management arrangements and led on organisational change issues.
Christina has over 30 years experience in the Education Department in a range of frontline policy jobs including establishing the National College for School Leadership, responsibility for curriculum and examinations policy and as secretary of the Committee of Enquiry into the Education of Ethnic Minority Children. She has also spent time on secondment to the White House Policy Staff and the BBC as well as 3 years as the Secretary of State's Principal Private Secretary.
Christina was awarded a CBE in 2003 for services to education.
