Chris Wormald - Director General - Local Government and Regeneration
Chris Wormald has been a Director General since November 2006, when he joined as Director General for Governance and Communications.
Prior to joining the Communities Department, Chris worked at the Department for Education and Skills (and its predecessor Departments). Here he undertook a range of roles including spells as Principal Private Secretary to both Estelle Morris and Charles Clarke and as Director of Academies and Capital where he was responsible for all of the Department's schools capital programmes. Chris holds a degree in History from Oxford University and a Masters in Business Administration from Imperial College Management School.
