Main estimate impacts

For the mainly office-based estate the significant operational impacts are those that reflect utility use (energy and water), waste, recycling, procurement and travel.

The Fire Service College is a 182-hectare rural estate where practical fire training can result in some discharges to the air and land. It is a former RAF station, bounded by trees, and there is some asbestos and land contamination. A professional environmental survey was undertaken in 2002 and a major site clean-up followed.

At the Conference Centre, additional significant impacts include the air-conditioning.
