Capability Review

The Department has been involved in the second stage of a cross-government programme to assess the capability of government departments to deliver on long term aims and identify improvements needed for the future.

Over recent months, a review team has been monitoring and assessing the performance of the Department against three key organisational themes: leadership, strategy and delivery. The review has looked at both internal and external issues including staff management, planning, delivery capacity and the way the Department works with its partners.

The report published 13 December 2006 details the outcomes of the team's findings.

The Communities and Local Government report can be accessed via the link on the right, you can also read the reports of other government Departments involved in the review.
