Key partners

At the request of Government, CABE Space was launched in May 2003 to champion parks and public spaces.

CABE Space is delivering challenging targets to improve our parks and public spaces. It is currently helping over 100 local authorities to develop green space strategies, has provided guidance to hundreds of green spaces managers across the country and has run several successful awareness campaigns to encourage people to get involved in caring for their local green spaces.

CABE Space will help to deliver many of the Urban Green Spaces Taskforce's recommendations, and is supporting Government to deliver the Cleaner, Safer, Greener Communities agenda.

Communities and Local Government sponsor Groundwork because of their excellent track record in facilitating community-led improvements to local environments. Groundwork's approach means communities are actively engaged in making decisions about their area, including the design, implementation and management of projects. Groundwork has a key role to play in delivering improvements to green and public spaces and in contributing to our liveability agenda.
