Housing Management

Housing and Respect - Communities and Local Government sets central Government policy on anti-social behaviour (ASB) / Respect as it specifically relates to social housing issues.

The Respect Standard for Housing Management was launched on 17 August 2006 and sets out the critical steps needed to promote social behaviour and reassure residents that ASB will not be tolerated. Sign-up to the Standard is voluntary, but will represent a public commitment by the landlord to effectively tackle ASB.

Many landlords have prioritised ASB and are doing an excellent job in making lives better for their tenants and the wider community.  The Standard aims to build on that work - providing public recognition for strong performers and raising the standard of the rest.  We want residents to know their landlord will act quickly and decisively to tackle anti-social behaviour.
