Enforcement

Communities and Local Government is working closely with the Department for Constitutional Affairs (DCA) to take forward work that will lead to the roll-out of anti-social behaviour (ASB) champions in County Courts. These champions will be similar to those already in existence in Magistrate courts and like Magistate court champions will facilitate improved working relations between ASB practitioners and the courts.

Communities and Local Government is also seeking to stregthen existing injuctive measures by using the Home Office led Police and Justice Bill. There are two clauses in this Bill and they are aimed at improving the injunctive provisions in s153A of the Housing Act 1996 and s91 of the Anti Social Behaviour Act 2003 by respectively ensuring the identities of victims are protected and ensuring the swift appearance before the courts of people suspected of breaching injunctive order provisions that have powers of arrest attached to them.
