The £18m Connecting Communities Plus grants programme (running from April 2006 - March 2009), will provide funding for activities which encourage race equality and community cohesion.
This funding will help to deliver 'Improving Opportunity, Strengthening Society' the Government's strategy to improve race equality and community cohesion.

Up to £1m per annum will be available in the second round of Community Grants. These grants will be administered by the Community Development Foundation (CDF). The bidding window for the second round of Community Grants will be open from 12 December 2006 through till 29 March 2007. These grants (up to £12,000 per organisation) will aim to support smaller community organisations in their work under the parameters of the national strategy. They will also be open to local community organisations seeking funding to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the passage of the 1807 Abolition of the Slave Trade.
