Intervention policy

English Partnerships will in future concentrate on increasing the supply of new development by:

  • Bringing forward new sites in priority areas through acquisition, remediation, site assembly, infrastructure, site preparation and decontamination;
  • Enabling use of public sector land in priority areas for housing or other beneficial uses or where proposals are brought forward by RDAs/local authorities;
  • Acquisitions and other interventions and assistance in support of existing bodies' frameworks such as Urban Regeneration Companies (URCs), pathfinders, Thames Gateway, other Growth Areas and Millennium Communities;
  • Carefully chosen Compulsory Purchase Orders designed to unlock development in priority areas.
