Please note: This guidance has now been replaced by The Validation of Planning Applications: Guidance for local planning authorities published 7 December 2007.
This guidance outlined the new procedures for the validation of planning applications by local planning authorities, provided guidance on the scope of material that should be supplied with planning applications; and outlined the benefits of 'validation checklists' in helping local planning authorities to achieve good performance and providing local planning authorities and applicants with greater certainty as to the nature and extent of information required in order to validate applications.
This draft guidance replaced Best Practice Guidance on the Validation of Planning Applications published 1 March 2005.
