Summary

This consultation paper seeks comments on a draft of a new Planning Policy Statement on Biodiversity and Geological Conservation (PPS). The intention is that this PPS, together with a new Government circular (which will cover relevant legislative provisions) and good practice guidance should, in due course, replace Planning Policy Guidance 9: Nature Conservation (PPG9), published in October 1994.
