Summary

A number of documents have been removed from this site because they are obsolete and have been replaced by updated versions.

Circular 3/2006 gives notice of the changes being brought into effect on 6 April 2006, and conveys the Secretary of State's approval to the those provisions that require this. It refers to:

• new Parts L and P in Schedule 1 of the Building Regulations 2000
• new energy efficiency requirements for Buildings to implement Articles 3 to 6 of the Energy Performance of  Buildings Directive
• new Approved Documents for Parts F, L and P
• new approved calculation methodology for Part L
• further provisions for self certification
• transitional provisions

Note: Annex I of this document has now been replaced and superceded by the Notice of approval of the methodology of calculation of the energy performance of buildings in England and Wales, which was published on 10 May 2007 and can be found Notice of Approval of the methodology of calculation of the energy performance of buildings in England and Wales.
