Summary

In May 2009, Communities and Local Government published a consultation paper setting out the Government's response to the Rugg Review and seeking views on its long term strategy for the private rented sector. The consultation closed on 7 August 2009.

This document provides an update on the key proposals on which we consulted and sets out the Government's next steps and plans for further work with stakeholders. The document also includes a summary of responses to the consultation.
