The Survey of English Housing (SEH) is a continuous household survey, carried out for the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister by the National Centre for Social Research. The SEH provides important housing data on owner occupation and on the social and private rented sectors. This preview presents some of the key findings from the 2001–02 survey. These results have been published earlier than in previous years because they are provisional results, not final results (the population used for grossing was the estimated 2001 population not the population in 2002). When the full report on the 2001–02 survey is published later this year the results can be expected to be very similar to those given in this bulletin, but not identical.
