This report provides information on the conditions of homes and places at a regional level and the differences between those regions.
Within this report we present the key regional findings from the 2003 English House Condition Survey (EHCS) for the nine regions. It presents the analysis of four key areas reported on by the EHCS: decent homes; private sector vulnerable households living in non-decent homes; energy efficiency and liveability. It also reviews the extent into which regions differ from each other on key indicators and how they differ from the national picture.
This report complements the 2003 annual EHCS report. Supplementary tables containing information on dwelling and household numbers, dwelling age, dwelling type, useable floor area, area type and facilities and services at the regional level are available from The 2001 English House Condition Survey Regional Report, also available from this website.
