This consultation paper is one of a series about implementation of provisions in the Housing Act 2004. The powers in the Act relating to Empty Dwelling Management Orders do not come into force until commenced by a commencement order. The paper sets out how the primary legislation is intended to operate and how the Government intends to implement secondary legislation. It invites interested parties to comment on the approach to be adopted in secondary legislation.
This consultation paper is accompanied by a partial Regulatory Impact Assessment. This assessment reviews the impacts of the proposed secondary legislation and follows on from the full Regulatory Impact Assessment that accompanied publication of the primary legislation.
