Beacon Scheme Round Six

Beacon Councils for Round Six were announced on 21 March 2005. 48 authorities were awarded Beacon status across ten themes. Government Ministers made their decisions following recommendations from the independent Advisory Panel on Beacon Councils. The Panel's full report outlines their recommendations and findings on all shortlisted authorities.

Beacons are now working with the Improvement and Development Agency to ensure other authorities can learn from their good practice.
